On July 8, 2025, The Rosemount Research and Outreach Center (Rosemount ROC) had the honor of welcoming 17 guests from Pasco Shikishima Corporation, primarily known for their bakery products, for a morning of knowledge exchange, agricultural insight, and cultural connection.
Based in Japan, Pasco Shikishima Corporation plays a role in the international food system through its flour milling and bakery operations. Their visit to Rosemount ROC marks a continued effort to bridge agricultural and community engagement across borders. The delegation toured and learned about sustainable cropping systems, midwestern U.S farming, and advanced farming technology.
“This visit underscores the importance of agriculture as a universal language,” said Blake Webster, Director of the Rosemount Research and Outreach Center. “Whether in Minnesota or Japan, we all need to be invested in food production innovation and community health.”
By hosting global partners like Pasco Shikishima, Rosemount ROC continues its mission to connect local research with global impact. As agriculture becomes increasingly interconnected, RROC is proud to serve as a hub for dialogue, discovery, and global partnership.
A special thanks to Don Katagiri of Kiku Enterprises, Inc. for connecting the Rosemount ROC and Pasco Corporation.
