It is located 25 miles southeast of the Twin Cities near Rosemount, Minnesota on 5,000 acres at the University of Minnesota's Outreach, Research and Education (UMore) Park. The RROC is also home to a large collection of the Dakota County Master Gardeners' Research and Display Gardens.

The mission of the research and outreach centers is to support research that enhances the quality of agricultural production, human health, renewable energy and the environment, and to disseminate the benefits of this research to the public.

The Rosemount Research and Outreach Center at UMore Park provides a land-based research site for approximately 40-45 faculty and their students each year. Faculty conducting research at the RROC are primarily from the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences.
